Everyone in the community needs to adopt behaviours of the “New Normal” to effectively prevent the spread of COVID-19.

To achieve this, we need to present these protective behaviours as social norms, i.e. accepted standards of behaviours in the community. This means the use of social sanctioning & mutual enforcement to build collective adherence across the community.

This signals a need for change and creation of a “New Normal” – where we adapt our routine activities to enable consistent compliance to the COVID-19 protective behaviours.
